Union Minister launched Amrit Kalash Yatra under Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, launched the Amrit Kalash Yatra as part of the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign in New Delhi on 1st September 2023, celebrating India's 75 years of independence. The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries, including Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Law and Justice Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for External Affairs Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture.

Shri Amit Shah emphasized the significance of this moment, envisioning that by August 15, 2047, India would lead globally in various domains through the upcoming Amritkal and “Sankalp Se Siddhi” initiatives. He stressed that although India has achieved much in the past 75 years, there is more to be accomplished. Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, Indians have been given the opportunity to work together to build a greater India. The 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' program aims to emotionally connect every individual, family, and citizen with the idea of creating a great India. Starting from September 1st, households, wards, and villages across India will collect soil or grains in 7500 pots, culminating in New Delhi between 28th – 30th October. The mitti/grains will be collected from 1st – 30th September 2023 from households/wards/villages, 1st – 13th October 2023 from blocks, and 22nd – 27th October at State Level. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will place soil from these Amrit Kalash pots in the Amrit Vatika, paying homage to India's brave heroes. Shri Amit Shah highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has integrated various programs into this initiative to engage every Indian in nation-building. The 'Panch Pran' pledge, installation of shilaphalakams, tree plantation, and flag hoisting are part of these efforts. He credited these initiatives, along with celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in 23 crore houses, offices, and buildings, for instilling pride and patriotism among citizens and boosting India's confidence, leading to achievements such as Chandrayaan's successful mission.

He concluded by remarking that 'Meri Mati-Mera Desh' is not just a program but a means for individuals to connect with India's future and contribute to its greatness. This initiative encapsulates India's rich history, culture, and the sacrifices of its heroes while paving the way for a brighter future. Shri Amit Shah lauded Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership and India's remarkable progress, aiming for a thriving economy and global prominence. The program symbolizes unity in India's diversity and reverence for the land as Mother. It is a testament to India's strength and potential, honoring the nation's martyrs during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
