Raghunath Krishna Joshi, a B.A., LL.B. from Junnar, played a vital role in India's freedom struggle.

Despite limited information on his personal life, his public life was a constant challenge to British officials. During the Civil Disobedience Movement of the 1930s, Joshi was instrumental in inviting leaders from Pune to lead the locals in the independence movement. He also organized meetings for the non-payment of taxes, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the nation. Furthermore, Joshi played a crucial role in hoisting the Congress Flag on the Junnar Municipal Building in 1930 and was the main strategist behind the Congress Committee in Junnar, mobilizing locals for the independence movement. Joshi's belief in non-cooperation with the British administration earned him respect among his fellow activists and the public. Joshi was also significantly involved in the Mukteshwar Dal, a militant organization that challenged British rule, which later merged into the RSS. Although no records suggest Joshi's direct involvement in militant activities, his role in organizing and coordinating the group's efforts was noteworthy. His dedication and commitment led to imprisonment.
