Women power showcased on India’s 75th Republic Day at Kartavya Path, New Delhi

Hon’ble President Smt Droupadi Murmu led the 75th Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, India. French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron was the Chief Guest for Republic Day 2024. Before the ceremony, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the National War Memorial and paid tributes to the fallen heroes of the nation.
The event showcased India’s rich cultural diversity, progress, and unity. This year’s event was focused on 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat - Loktantra ki Matruka’ and witnessed the participation of approximately 13,000 guests. This initiative allowed people from all walks of life to join in the celebrations and encouraged Jan Bhagidari in the nation.
The parade was inaugurated with the musical precision of over 100 women artists who played traditional Indian musical instruments. The event commenced with the melodic sounds of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, and more, skillfully performed by these accomplished women artists. Adding to the historic occasion, an all-women Tri-Service contingent marked their debut by marching down the Kartavya Path. The audience was further captivated by women pilots showcasing Nari Shakti during the Fly-past. Additionally, the contingents of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) exclusively featured women personnel.
The Kartavya Path also experienced a march past featuring a combined Band and Marching contingent of the French Armed Forces. Captain Khourda led a 30-member band contingent, followed by Captain Noel leading a 90-member marching contingent. As they marched past the saluting dais, one Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft and two Rafale fighter jets from the French Air & Space Force soared above the contingents, adding a spectacular aerial element to the event.
Indian military contingents including the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force showcased the strength of the nation.
