Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates ATAL Setu in Mumbai, India

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu in Navi Mumbai on 12th January 2023. He also took a walkthrough tour of the Bridge’s photo gallery and shared a model of the Bridge. The inaugural event was also graced by the presence of Shri Ramesh Bais, Governor of Maharashtra; Shri Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; and Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Shri Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra.
About Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri- Nhava Sheva Atal Setu
The Bridge was constructed to improve the ‘ease of mobility’ of citizens by giving a boost to the urban transport infrastructure and connectivity. Also known as the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) Atal Setu, the Marvel Bridge is about 21.8 Km long and possesses 6 lanes crowning it to be the longest Bridge in India. The Bridge is about 16.5 Km over the sea and 5.5 Km on the ground.
Atal Setu shall facilitate faster connectivity between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai International Airports. It shall also reduce the travel time between Pune, Goa and other South Indian States.
