Prime Minister inaugurates Shivamogga Airport in Karnataka

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Shivamogga Airport, Karnataka along with several other development projects in the city on 27th February 2023.
The newly constructed airport is spread over an area of 758 acres of land and it has a passenger terminal building that is spread over an area of 4340 sq. meters. enabling 300 passengers to comfortably check-in per hour.
The Prime Minister in his address elaborated the idea behind the Government’s strategy to expand the Aviation Sector in the coming years. He mentioned about the UDAN scheme that fulfills the goal of affordable air travel for everyone.
The design of the airport is inspired by a lotus flower and is suitable for A-320 types of aircraft. The night-landing facility is another provision that the airport will provide and is scheduled to be operational shortly.
Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia tweeted and shared this news with the nation.
