Hon’ble Prime Minister acknowledged India’s triumphs in 2022 in the 96th episode of Mann Ki Baat

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 96th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program reflected on the nation's achievements in 2022. To name a few, he was elated to share that India attained the spot of the 5th largest economy in the world in 2022. India also surpassed the vaccination mark of 220 crores this year. The export figures also took a massive leap as India crossed $400 billion. The nation also welcomed its first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and the bronze victory of India’s women's hockey team at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games showcased our potential in the sports sector.
He acknowledged people’s participation in various events that showcased unity and togetherness. He said, “In 2022, the countrymen have scripted another chapter of immortal history. Who can forget the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign organised in the month of August! Those were the moments giving every countryman goosebumps. In this campaign of 75 years of independence, the whole country assumed the hues of the tricolor. More than 6 crore people even sent selfies with the tricolor. This Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav will continue in the same way next year as well – It will further strengthen the foundation of Amrit Kaal.”
He also acknowledged the enthusiasm of the country towards art and culture and how this is a manifestation of the feeling of 'pride in our heritage'. He stressed the importance of preserving our rich heritage and resources by giving examples of skilled bamboo artisans and unique products made from betelnut fiber. He mentioned that these traditional skills and knowledge of India shall be solutions for a more sustainable future. He encouraged support of these indigenous and local products to strengthen our identity and local economy.
Inspiring the world about the benefits of Yoga and Ayurveda, the Prime Minister shared the news about the unique research being carried out by the Tata Research Centre, Mumbai. This Centre’s research shows that practising yoga regularly has a 15% lower mortality and recurrence rate for those with breast cancer. This is the first instance of Indian traditional medicine that has been put to the tests of Western approaches.
