On the eve of 75 years of our Independence and the achievements of India over these years, the Government of India initiated celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) as a special week from 27th Sept – 3 rd Oct 2021, earmarked MoHUA to showcase its achievements under various Urban Missions, while also reimagining a new Urban India. This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The main object of this programme is an intensive, countrywide campaign which will focus on citizen participation, to be converted into a 'Janandolan', where small changes, at the local level, will add up to significant national gains.
As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav week, the District Collector Sri KVN Chakradhar Babu IAS has participated in plastic ban event on 04.10.2021 conducted awareness programmes, group gatherings with citizens, Stakeholder, Politicians and educated in discarding of usage of PLASTIC from the society by referring adopting of alternate methods in place of Plastic items.
