In an attempt to infuse a sense of responsibility in public towards cleanliness and to bring tangible results in terms of Swacchata as envisioned by Hon'ble PM of India, DC Doda Vishesh Mahajan along with ADC Bhaderwah Chowdhary Dil Mir and other officers led a Mega Cleanliness Drives of Neru Nallah from New Bus Stand in Bhaderwah.
DC while appealing to people to inculcate the habit of cleanliness not only in their homes but also in their surroundings, has said that cleanliness is a very important part of the faith of an individual following any of the religions and such Swechheta Programmes aims to make cleanliness our collective habit. Tourist destinations like Bhaderwah are the centers of major footfall, and we all ought to keep it very clean and tidy in order to ensure a hygienic environment for boosting tourism and the local economy. Like earlier, Swachhta Hi Seva campaign, the spirit of today's cleanliness activity is voluntarism or shramdaan, he added.
With a focus on visual cleanliness, the drive was conducted successfully in Neru Nallah. It was informed that the people who throw their toilet waste in the water bodies shall be punished. All such households have been given one week's notice to build their septic tanks for proper greywater management.
