Vandan, Veeron ka Vandan which venerates the gallant sacrifices of our bravehearts Meri Maati Meri Desh campaign is being celebrated throughout the country to mark the contribution of our freedom fighters who were instrumental in achieving the freedom of India. It is celebrated by the agriculture department in every zone of district Srinagar under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The campaign will feature programs like the establishment of Shilaphalakams dedicated to freedom fighters and security forces, as well as initiatives like the Panch Pran Pledge, The Director of Agriculture Kashmir on the occasion said that the Meri Maati, Mera Desh campaign is aimed at invoking feelings of patriotism and unity in the hearts of people and promoting a sense of respect for the soil of the nation and symbols of countries independence. Shilaphalakam or Memorial plaques saluting the spirit of sacrifice of local bravehearts from the village, panchayat, block, town, city, municipality, etc. are to be erected across urban and rural areas. It will have the Prime Minister’s message with the names of those who have laid down their lives for the nation belonging to that region.
This Amrit Kalash Yatra carrying the soil in 7,500 kalash from villages and various corners of the country, will reach Delhi. This yatra will also carry plants from various parts of the country. From 7,500 Kalash soil and plants that will come, Amrit Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Vatika will be built close to the National War Memorial.
