Kathak Dharohar is joining the celebrations of 75 years of Indian Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav through a production, titled
‘EKAATMATA….One Soul'. This production is based on the rich traditions of Indian dance forms that include tribal and folk traditions from Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan and classical traditions of Manipuri, Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam and Kathakali. The production is dedicated to our forgotten freedom fighters, whose names did not find their way into the pages of the history of the Indian Freedom Struggle. With deepest gratitude, the dancers offer their Shrandhajali to the unsung heroes of India, without whom, we could not be the democratic, republic nation that we are today.
An ensemble of 75 artists will perform in the 75-minute-long performance to commemorate the 75th year of Indian Independence. Through the production, they wish to spread the tradition of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Indian Dance forms. In the celebration, they will also honour the individuals who are working towards social welfare and spreading positivity in our society and country. They are an inspiration for our youth.
