The program on Feb 11, 2023, centres around the Attapadi tribal community from Palakkad district in Kerala. The Nammakku Namme Gothra Kalayika Samskarika Samiti, led by Shri Attapadi Mukan will present the music and dances of the community on Feb 11, 2023. As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (75 Years of Indian Independence), different themes have been identified to celebrate the vision of a new India. One of the themes is tribal pride. Under this vertical tribal communities proudly display their traditions for everyone to enjoy. The folk music and dances will help the audience to learn about the culture of the Attapadi community of Kerala.
The program on Feb 12, 2023, falls into the theme of Cultural Pride, which deals with areas such as the Indian knowledge system, freedom struggle, history, archaeology and antecedents, regional literature, arts and music, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, etc. In this program, we will hear the beautiful folk songs of Tamil Nadu. The artiste, T Velmurugan is a well-known Tamil playback singer known for his songs like Madura ( Subramaniapuram), Aadungada ( Naadodigal), and Otha Sollala (Aadukalam).
