Commemoration of the 73rd National Constitution Day @ Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Tokyo on 26th November 2022 was attended by officers and officials of the Embassy of India, Tokyo and several members of the Indian Diaspora in Tokyo. H.E. Shri Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, addressed the gathering and read the preamble of the Constitution. In his address, H.E. Shri Sibi George addressed that it is the solemn duty of every Indian to uphold the spirit and ideals of the Constitution. He also remembered the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and a one minute silence was observed as a mark of respect. The event also included a Bharatnatyam performance on “Vande Matram” by a renowned Japanese artist Ms. Kazuko Yasunobu. On 25th November, school students from various indian schools in Japan took participated in the Constitution Day Celeberations. H.E. Shri Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan addressed the students. In his address, the Ambassador highlighted the significant message conveyed by each word of the “Preamble to the Indian Constitution”. The students read out the Preamble with H.E. Shri Sibi George and also participated in a quiz on the Constitution of India. A photo exhibition on the Indian constitution was organised. Besides, a movie on the “ making and the essence of the Indian constitution” was also screened.
