NMCG organized a one-month-long ‘Mission Life Campaign’ from 3rd May to 5th June 2023 across 5 Ganga Main Stem States. A variety of activities and events including- Awareness Drives, Competitions, Ganga Marathon, Ghat Par Haat, Ganga Aarti, Yoga, Plantation, Ganga Swachhta, and Environment Sustainability Pledge were organized under the Mission LiFE Campaign aimed to ensure maximum participation and to strengthen the people-river connect. The campaign was organized at over 80 plus locations across the Ganga Main Stem States with a focus on Ganga & its tributaries.
District Ganga Committee’s in association with the State Missions for Clean Ganga organized the Mission LiFE Campaign in Uttarakhand on a wider scale with events at around 13 Districts including- Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh and Udam Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand.
Numerous schools and colleges, youth & women groups, NGOs and community-based organizations, and the community at large participated and joined the events of the campaign. The volunteer cadre of Ganga Prahari and Ganga Vichaar Manch also organized various activities during the campaign. The campaign reached out to thousands of people, especially local communities and youth groups through a series of public outreach and engaging activities.
