The National Mission for Clean Ganga organized flag hoisting events with an underlying theme of –"Har Ghar-Har Ghat Tiranga" at more than 75 locations on the banks of River Ganga spanning five States on the main stem of the river including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal and towns and villages on the banks of tributaries of River Ganga. People from all walks of life participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign including students, youth groups’, Ganga Vichar Manch, Ganga Doots, Ganga Praharis, etc.
During the campaign, activities like ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ at Ganga Ghats/houses, Jhanda Yatra, hoisting of the National Flag at Ghats, offices, project sites, Ganga Shapath, Ganga Arti, etc. were organized across the five Ganga Main Stem Basin States. The importance of the River Ganga, our National Pride, was also explained to the participants and people living along the River Ganga. The important steps being taken to restore River Ganga to its glory under the Namami Gange Programme were communicated to the people. The relevance of clean Ganga and its economic, social, and cultural significance in building India was emphasized during the events.
