Nadi Utsav was organized with the goal of emphasizing the crucial need to conserve India's rivers, which are currently under threat from a variety of factors including pollution, encroachment, and the impacts of climate change. The festival aimed to encourage community involvement in river conservation initiatives and inspire individuals to take steps towards safeguarding these invaluable resources. By raising awareness about the significance of rivers and promoting local engagement in conservation efforts, Nadi Utsav aimed to help ensure a sustainable future for these vital natural resources under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. National Water Mission with Rotary India Water Conservation Trust hosted the event.
The event was held on 28th March 2023, near the Subarnarekha River in Tambhakhuri village, located in the Rasgovindpur block of Mayurbhanj Odisha. Notable guests included Mr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, a social worker, Ex-MLA Mr. Kandra Soren, and MP's Representative Mr. Pradeep Mohanty, Rtn. Rakesh President Rotary Club of Baripada along with many Rotarians were present & lend their support to the cause of river conservation and sustainability
