On the eighth day of the Dandi Yatra, the journey of 12-kilometer from Borsad to Kankapura began after darshan at Lord Suryanarayana temple in the early morning. A large number of people of the city of Borsad had gathered to bid farewell to the pedestrians.
Hon'ble Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha ji participated in the padyatra and joined the contingent for about 3 kilometers. Later, he laid a wreath at Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi-memorial near Maharana Pratap Road and addressed the gathering. The Honorable Governor said that Gandhiji had not only fought for freedom but also taken the freedom struggle to the masses.
