On Sunday, on the tenth day of the padyatra, all the padyatris started for Anakhi from Kareli village. The yatra was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Mr. Conrad Sangma ji. After the welcome and address in Kareli, the Honorable Chief Minister joined the padyatra and walked about nine kilometers to Gajera village.
On entering the village of Pilludara, the pedestrians were greeted with a thunderous applause. Walking on the path on which Gandhiji had once walked, the padyatris marched on in the calm and tranquil atmosphere filled with trees on both sides of the road. Farmers and farm labourers working in far-flung fields along the way waved at padyatris and greetings exchanged.
