Unsung Heroes Detail

Rattan Singh was born in the village of Hafzabad in the district of Rupnagar. His father’s name was Arjan Singh. During World War II, he was influenced by Subash Chandra Bose and joined the Indian National Army, and fought against the British. He was imprisoned and court-martialed while serving as a prisoner of war. He received the Tamra Patra award for his contribution to the Indian independence struggle.
