Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Govardhan Sonar was a freedom fighter and son of Nathu Sonar. He belonged originally to Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and his date of birth is 1916. His wife’s name was Rajkumari Devi. He had contributed to 1942, Quit India Movement. He was educated till the second standard. During the Quit India Movement, he was sent to Bhagalpur Jail for 18 days. He was involved in the damaging of electric wire. He was in contact with Gandhiji. He was a true follower of Gandhiji and followed the path of truth similar to that of Gandhiji. He was also one of the chief freedom fighters from Jamshedpur amongst all other freedom fighters of Jamshedpur. He died on 25 December 1986 at Chaibasa Hospital.
