Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Krishnaswamy Naidu was born on 5th January 1902 in Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu. He was a staunch follower of Kamaraj and Gandhiji. In 1922 he joined the Congress party and in 1924 he participated in the All Indian Congress conference at Belgaum. In 1930 he participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement and in 1940 he participated in Satyagraha. He was arrested and sentenced to one-year imprisonment.  He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as an Indian National Congress candidate from the Srivilliputhur constituency in the 1957 election and from the Rajapalayam constituency in the 1962 election. He passed away on 30 October 1973.
