Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

Sri Koti Reddy (1886-1970) was a barrister. He accompanied Gandhiji during his Rayalaseema tour in 1919-20. He also took part in the individual satyagraha movement and was imprisoned for eight months from 7 December 1940 in Vellore and Tiruchirapalli Jails. Again he was detained during the Quit India Movement from 10 August 1942 at Vellore and Amaravati jails and was released after his father’s death in December 1943. He was the President of the Andhra Mahasabha and Minister for Endowments and Excise, during 1946-47 in the composite Madras State. He was the Member of the Legislative assembly till 1962 and nominated to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in 1964 and continued as such till 30 June 1970.
