Kanta Singh was born in 1920 into a poor family in Jaggi Bhagwan village under the Ukhi block of Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand State. His father used to take care of his family by farming. His father's name was Mohan Singh Rana, and his mother's name was Durga Devi. Since childhood, Janta Singh Rana has been a talented and hardworking person. He used to motivate the youth in his village to live in India. His speech was imbued with the spirit of patriotism. Whenever he went to the village, he used to brainstorm ideas for the youth to liberate the country and highly inspire them. Jakh fairies held Jaggi village. The Paswa of Jakh dances in the embers of the fire. A lot of local people used to come to the fair, and he used to inspire them to liberate India. Kanta Singh joined Lansdowne as a rifleman on March 9, 1941. His platoon name was the 5th Garhwal Rifles. He could not bear the tyranny of the British, so he joined the Azad Hind Fauj on February 15, 1942. He fought with the British from 1941 to 1946. To be employed, Kanta Singh went to Japan and had to go to jail while fighting for the freedom struggle. Martilla Brahma was imprisoned in a jail called Chittagong, Kolkata, or Multan. Accordingly, he was discharged from their own army on March 25, 1946. He was kept in a jail called Multan, and the great freedom fighter died in 1984.
