The commemoration of the adoption of the constitution started with the reading of its preamble by ambassador Shrivastava in the presence of the members of the diplomatic mission. Celebrations continued at the Mihai Eminescu book shop in the heart of Bucharest, where ambassador Shrivastava shed some light on key moments in Indian history. He thanked Mrs. Geta Vodislav, commercial director of the book shop, for being with India on such an important day, as well as friends and visitors for their keen interest in Indian history and culture. The Indian constitution was adopted on this day 72 years ago in the constituent assembly, making India a sovereign socialist secular democratic republic.
