On July 20, 2022, Mr. Mayank Joshi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Tokyo delivered opening remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the 10th India Trend Fair 2022 (held from July 20 to 22, 2022) organized by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO); Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) and Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) in collaboration with Japan India Industry Promotion Association (JIIPA). While highlighting the strengths of the Indian Textile Industry, he mentioned that India has a major share in the entire textile value chain, Farm to Fabric, Fabric to Finished products, Finished Products to Fashion products, and then to export products. He further mentioned that the products displayed at the fair have been specifically designed and value-added, in accordance with Japanese fashion trends and requirements. He also advised the Indian exporters to ensure high standards of quality to be successful in the Japanese market. During the event there were also remarks by Mr. Narendra Goenka, Chairman, AEPC; Dr. Arumugam Sakthivel, President, FIEO; Mr. Gopalakrishnan Palanisamy, Chairman, HEPC and Mr. Yosuke Yanagase, Honorary Chairman, JIIPA. The inauguration ceremony was followed by a Tape cutting ceremony and media briefing. More than 130 companies from India are participating in the event.
