Independence Day 2021 : Embassy of India, Tel Aviv, Israel

On the special occasion of India’s Independence Day, which marks the beginning of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Indian Jewish diaspora in Israel came together to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the launch of Indian Jewish Artefacts Exhibition at ICC Tel Aviv in association with the Indian Jewish Heritage Center (IJHC), Israel.  Indian Jewish Artefacts gave a medium for young Indian Jews in Israel to experience the Indian Jewish heritage bought to Israel by their ancestors.       

Friends of India in Israel sent out Independence Day greetings in the form of videos which were showcased on the Embassy's social media platforms.         A rendition of the Indian National Anthem by famous Israeli singer Keren Porat Snapir was also released by the Embassy on its social media platforms.

On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of India, Embassy organized a remembrance ceremony at Junction Station Cemetery, a site in Nahal Sorek that honors Indian soldiers who died during WWI in this sector.  The event witnessed the participation of representatives from the four Indian Jewish communities in Israel, Indian students, WWI Jewish historians, members of Indian Army in UNDOF, State Bank of India and Air India.         

To celebrate the 75th Independence Day of India, the Indian students' community at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology organised an event dedicated to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.         

To mark the occassion, the City Center in Haifa, Haifa Cemetery and   The Ben-Gurion Desert Home were illuminated with the Indian National Flag on 75th Independence Day of India.
