On, 29.04.2022, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, hosted a Thematic Bharatanatyam based presentation performed by Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai, at the Port’s School Open Auditorium, as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, an initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
Around 25 artists from Kalakshetra Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, performed the cultural program titled ‘Veera Sudhandhiram’, wherein they exhibited exceptional skills in the thematic Dance in all its facts, Background score, Choreography, dexterous moment on stage, etc., and highlighting the freedom struggle and the role of legendary freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi and V.O. Chidambaranar.
