Celebration of “Vanijya Saptah” at Jammu Haat
On the occasion of ‘Vanijya Saptah’, District Industries Centre, Jammu established a stall at Jammu Haat on various schemes like Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP], New Central Sector Scheme and New State Industrial Policy, 2021 for Industrial Development of UT of Jammu & Kashmir. The field officers of District Industries Centre, Jammu gave a detailed overview of these schemes to the visitors. Large number of people especially youth showed keen interest in these schemes.
- Key features of PMEGP scheme are as under:
Maximum Project Cost : 25.00 lacs for manufacturing
Sector enterprises and Rs. 10.00 lacs for service sector enterprises.
Government subsidy : Rural – 25% [General Category]
And 35% for special category [SC/ ST/OBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen]. Urban- 15% [General Category] and 25% Special category [SC/ST/ OBC/Ex-Servicemen/ Women].
Lock in period of Govt. Subsidy: Minimum 03 years.
Age Criteria : Minimum 18 years
Beneficiaries : Unemployed persons.
Key features of New Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of UT of J&K are as under:
Capital Investment Incentive: 30% in Zone-A and 50% in Zone-B.
- Capital Interest Subvention :
6% Capital Interest Subvention for a maximum period of 07 consecutive years on plant & machinery under manufacturing sectors and on Building and other durable assets under service sector.
Goods & Service Tax Linked Incentives:
300% of the eligible value of investment in plant and machinery [manufacturing sector] or construction of Building and other durable physical assets [service sector]
Working Capital Interest Subvention:
All existing units at the annual rate of 5% for maximum period of 5 consecutive years.
Key features of New State Industrial Policy, 2021-30:
100% subsidy on DG set [ranging from 10 KW to 2000 KW].
- 60% subsidy on Pollution Control Devices.
- Turnover based incentives for existing units.
- SGST incentives.
- Subsidy on procurement of Quality Certificate.
- Subsidy on Automation.
In order to motivate youth to become successful entrepreneurs, large number of stalls of successful PMEGP units and other Industries were also installed at Jammu Haat. Large number of people thronged these stalls and purchased the products displayed in them. Thus, it provided a platform for promotion of their products.
Through, these stalls youth was motivated to become job providers rather than job seekers. The whole idea was to boost manufacturing and service sector and thereby harness immense growth potential of the region.
Apart from this, a stall of Directorate General of Foreign Trade [DGFT] was also installed at Jammu Haat wherein live demonstration was imparted to people in general and industrialists in particular for getting registered with DGFT. It was an handholding session for local exporters / new entrepreneurs.
