Under the banner Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav CFL under the direction of the Lead bank office visited the Sail
village of Block Beerwah, where CFl met a group of women from the village. During the visit, CFL briefed
them about various schemes such as PMEGP, Tejaswini, social security schemes, frauds, and their
prevention. The Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a flagship scheme of
the government of India aimed at generating employment opportunities in the country. Tejaswini is
another scheme aimed at empowering women through skill development and entrepreneurship. CFL
officials explained to the women about the eligibility criteria, application process, and benefits of these
schemes.CFL officials also spoke about social security schemes and the importance of safeguarding
oneself against fraud. It is crucial to remain vigilant and cautious while dealing with financial
transactions and avoid sharing personal information with strangers. Overall, the interaction with the
women was enriching, and they showed a keen interest in learning about the various schemes and how
they could benefit from them. It was heartening to see their enthusiasm and determination to improve
their livelihoods.
