Under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of independence, the Social Welfare Department Budgam facilitated public outreach and 100% saturation of the schemes provided by the government for the downtrodden, weak, and marginalized strata of the society. Under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the To budgam conducted awareness about the services provided by the department and facilitated the existing and fresh beneficiaries for online registration under Integrated Social Security Schemes (Oldage, Women in distress - widow and divorcee, physically challenged persons /divyangjans and transgenders) and National Social Assistance Programme (Indira Gandhi National Oldage Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, and National Family Benefit Scheme) pensionary schemes. 105 applications processed online on jansugam.jk.gov.in and revert back to applicants for updation of requisite documents. The applicants have also been reached telephonically as a handholding initiative to facilitate the submission of deficient documents on the online service portal.
