Shri Manohar Lal, Chief Minister, Haryana had given the directions fr conducting the programmes on a wide scale in the state till August 15, 2023. He said that in view of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's call to make Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav a festival of the people of India, maximum public participation in Haryana on a large scale will be ensured. Various activities will be organized so that the feeling of patriotism is strengthened among the people of the state and they realize the importance of freedom and the sacrifices made for it.
The Chief Minister was giving necessary directions in a meeting held on Friday regarding the successful organization of various programmes and activities going on at the state level under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. He directed that just like the high-level committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Haryana Chief Secretary, another organizing committee should also be constituted under his chairmanship to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
At the state level, these programmes will be organized till August 15, 2023. Programmes of Amrit Mahotsav should be organized as per Haryana Vision-2047 on the lines of India Vision-2047. Organizing these programmes should be ensured with the participation of all, students of schools, colleges and universities, women, farmers, workers etc. along with rural and urban areas. Along with the government, various organizations, NGOs etc. should also be involved in this.
He said that the heroes of Haryana had made a remarkable contribution to the independence of India. The members of the families who contributed to the freedom struggle should be honoured. The website which has been created in view of the organization of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav should be uploaded on the information given by the public, story etc. and more and more information in this regard should be compiled and put on the website. With all the publicity tools of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, the message should reach at the village level from door to door. Along with this, all other departments should also organize their programmes under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that since independence, changes have taken place on a large scale in many areas. On such an occasion, new targets should be set for the welfare of the people of the state and to give a model form to the state. Further development of rural and urban areas, improved schools and colleges and nanotechnology should be ensured to reach more and more people. Cultural programmes should be organized in all 6900 villages of the state, in which participation of folk artists, school and college students of the state should be ensured.
Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, through a presentation based on the organization of Amrit Mahotsav, informed that 485 programmes have been organized by various departments so far. Similarly, about 1500 more programmes will be organized on public participation with five major themes – Freedom Struggle, Winners, Achievements, Thoughts and Resolutions. He informed that a martyr memorial of the first freedom struggle of India is being built in Ambala Cantt. Martyr memorial will be constructed in Naseebpur village of Mahendragarh. An exhibition based on the contribution of Haryana in the freedom struggle was organized by the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages in all the districts of the state. Similarly, in the War of 1857, the play of the heroes of Haryana was staged at the Tagore Theater, Chandigarh and Kurukshetra. This play will be staged in other districts also.
Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, Agriculture and Welfare Minister, Sh. JP Dalal and BJP State President, Sh. OP Dhankhar, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi and Vice Chancellors of various Universities also gave their suggestions regarding better organization of Amrit Mahotsav.
