On 23rd September, 2022, MGMIMSR, organised a blood donation camp. The camp was organised in association with MGM Hospital Kamothe. The camp was coordinated and organised by students and faculty of MGMIMSR. It was organised in the auditorium and started at 9 am, with staff of MGMIMSR donating the blood. Before taking blood, each participant was checked for their health status.
To be eligible to donate blood, the donor must be:
- In good health.
- At least 18 years old
- At least about 50 kilograms
- Able to pass the physical and health-history assessments.
Those who passed the criteria were allowed to donate blood. Because of the risk of bloodborne infections, not everyone can donate blood, so certain criteria are checked, only those who fulfil the criteria fill up the consent form and donate the blood. Apart from students of MMS, students and staff from other colleges, of campus, also participated and donated blood. Institute had arranged for refreshments for those who donated blood in the camp. Students and other people who had participated in this blood donation camp were given certificates for the same.
To watch over the entire process and to collect the blood, a team of five doctors and nurses, along with the faculties were put in charge. The Institute had also arranged for a resting room for anyone who felt dizzy or sick after donating blood.
