Front Office Club for Change at AIHM organized a webinar on ‘Revenue Management Practices’ in order to provide the well-versed idea of practicing revenue management in hotels.
Mr. Rahul Garg – Director of Revenue Management– Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas was the session expert for the webinar. Mr. Garg gave an overview of the basics of revenue management. He also explained the types of rates, channels of distribution, market segments, Important KPIs (ARR, Rev PAR, Trev PAR, Occupancy Percentage, etc), and preparation of the hotel budget with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.
AIHM students Vinay Singh served as the moderator for the webinar. Students actively participated in the session by answering questions put up by Mr. Garg.
The purpose of this webinar was to improve the technical knowledge of students who are going to appear for placement interviews in the coming months. The webinar also aimed to increase students’ understanding of front office operations at the management level.
Ms. Manupriya-Coordinator concluded the workshop by encouraging the students to attend more workshops like this and to widen their horizons in the subject of room division in order to have a better understanding of hotel operations after their placements. The webinar was very well received by the students, who had many of their questions about entering the hospitality industry answered.
