The embassy of India in Baku started the celebration of Republic Day with the lightening of the Chancery building with tricolour from January 24-26, 2022. On January 26 at 9 AM the physical event started with unfurling of the national flag and singing of the national anthem followed by reading of the President’s Speech by the Ambassador of India to Baku. The celebration also included patriotic songs and a dance performance by Embassy and Indian diaspora members. Around 80 members of the Indian diaspora in Azerbaijan participated in the event. The Ambassador of India also welcomed all and thanked them for actively participating in the celebration.
Republic Day Reception : (Evening Session)
Embassy of India in Baku hosted a reception to celebrate the 73rd Republic Day of India at Four seasons Hotel, Baku on January 26 (evening). Around 150 dignitaries of the diplomatic corps, Ministers, Officials, Law Makers of the government of Azerbaijan and prominent members from the Indian Diaspora in Azerbaijan attended the reception. The Chief Guest of the function was H. E. Mr Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The programme includes the welcome of guests by the Ambassador of India, followed by a welcome address by the Ambassador of India, followed by an address by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan and a few cultural programmes by Azerbaijani performers.
