On the occasion of the celebration of the 73rd Republic Day of India, H.E Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Verma hoisted the national flag and read the President of India's address to the nation. The celebration was live telecast for the Indian diaspora in Japan and friends of India. The ceremony also featured singing performances by students of Global Indian International School and Indian International School in Japan. Ambassador felicitated winners of the “Dekho Apna Desh” quiz with certificates from the above two schools. The Quiz was organized by the Embassy on behalf of MWCD organized as part of AKAM.
