International Centre for Automotive Technology held a webinar on safe vehicles

 A webinar on Awareness of Road Users on “Safe Vehicles-Safe Roads-Save Lives” was organized by the Passive Safety Lab of the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) for the Jan Bhagidari. It was the 1st event of the series of informational and educational webinars organized by ICAT as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” week as announced by the Ministry of Heavy Industries between the period from 10th January 2022 to 16th January 2022. The event was inaugurated with the message from Shri Mahendra Nath Pandey, Honourable Minister of Heavy Industries, and Shri Krishna Pal Gurjar, Honourable Minister of State of Heavy Industries. The inaugural session included a welcome address by Shri Dinesh Tyagi, Director, ICAT followed by a keynote address from Dr. Sarma Akella, Vice President, Mahindra & Mahindra. The event proceedings continued with the technical session from 3 eminent speakers from different fields of road safety; Prof. Sudipto Mukherjee, Professor, IIT-Delhi, Dr. Kayitha Ravinder, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head – Transportation, Planning and Environment Division, CSIR – CRRI, and Mr. Pratyush Khare, Head - Crash & Safety Function, TATA Motors Ltd. The above digital event was attended by 220 delegates from Transport Department, Automotive and Component Manufacturers, Crash Investigators, Trauma Care & injury research institutions, Academic Institutions, Road Safety Auditors, NGOs, associated stakeholders. The event concluded with a Vote-of-Thanks by Shri Sunil Kumar Kalia, Chief Business Officer, ICAT.

Webinar on Awareness on Autonomous Vehicles

This webinar will be focused on Autonomous Vehicle Technology development, right from level zero to level five. This webinar will give a detailed understanding of the different components and subsystems involved. Virtual and physical development and testing of these technologies will be covered. The entire webinar focus will be on AV technology in the Indian context.
