Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura has taken up various new initiatives for the socio-economic development as well as the overall development of the Tribal Communities of the State. As a part of this initiative, Tribal Welfare Department has organized the launching program on 3rd January 2022 at 12.00 Noon at Barakathal Bazar under Mohanpur Sub-Division, West Tripura for extending benefits to ST beneficiaries for income generation and infrastructural development in different activities under Special Economic Development Package, NLFT(SD).
The Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Welfare & Fisheries Department, Govt. of Tripura Shri Mevar Kumar Jamatia has launched the program as the inaugurator of the aforesaid Programme in presence of the Chief Guest Shri Ranabir Debbarma, Chairman, BAC, Lefunga R.D. Block, and Guest of Honor Shri Sabir Kumar Debbarma, President, NLFT(SD) and other dignitaries.
It is to be mentioned here that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has released funds for an amount of Rs. 40.00 cr. out of total project proposal under Special Economic Development Package for development of Tribals of Tripura as per Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) signed between the Government of India, Government of Tripura, and NLFT(SD).
