The Eat Right Millets Mela and Walkathon, held on April 29, 2023, in Thane district, Maharashtra, was a successful event that aimed to promote the consumption of millets and encourage a healthy lifestyle through walking, yoga, and aerobics.
The morning Walkathon, which attracted over 800 participants, was the highlight of the event. The participants included people of all ages, including children and senior citizens, who walked together for a healthier lifestyle. Before the Walkathon, there were Yoga and Aerobics sessions that were led by the renowned international wrestler, Shri Sangram Singh. The sessions were attended by a large number of people who were enthusiastic about learning from the experienced wrestler.
In the evening, the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais, graced the ceremony with his presence, and over 1,200 people attended the event. The governor's presence added significance to the event and provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of promoting healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle.
Throughout the day, more than 5,000 people visited the stalls that were set up at the event. The stalls showcased a variety of millet-based food products, including snacks, sweets, and traditional dishes. The visitors were able to sample and purchase these products, which helped to promote the consumption of millet and raise awareness about their health benefits.
