Saroj Kumar Bosu

Saroj Kumar Bosu was born on 01 March 1915 in Dinajpur now in Bangladesh. His father’s name was Anand Mohan Bosu. He was a lawyer. Saroj was studying Intermediate Science when he joined Anushilan Party. On 29 October 1933 he was arrested for involvement in Hilli Action and awarded death sentence by the court. Subsequently it was commuted to ten years rigorous imprisonment and he was deported to Cellular Jail. He took part in the hunger strike in July 1937 which continued for 37 days. He was repatriated back to Alipore jail where he again went for hunger strike in 1939 for 36 days. He was released on 1942, again rearrested. Finally he was released on 1945, thus serving a total jail period was 13 years.
