Babu Ram Hari was from Qadian, Gurdaspur District of Punjab. He was Editor of ‘Swarajya’. He could edit only three issues of Swarajya. He was arrested and produced before a Sessions Judge for penning three editorials considered ‘seditious’ by the British colonizers and sentenced him to transportation to an aggregate term of 21 years on different counts. He was one of the few prisoners who spent maximum term in the jail.
