Birendra Chandra Sen was born at Shillong. His father’s name was Kailash Chandra Sen. He was a college student at the time of his arrest in Alipore Bomb case. He was convicted to 7 years rigorous imprisonment and was repatriated in 1914. He was released one year thereafter in 1915, but kept interned for 4 years. Again he was arrested in ‘Quit India’ movement in 1942 and served 10 months imprisonment. He breathed his last at Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. Hem Sen and Martyr Sushil Sen were his brothers.
