India’s biggest drone show being organized as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

India’s biggest drone show in Lucknow jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Department of Tourism and Culture, Uttar Pradesh, as part of Amrit Mahotsav series of events on 1857: 1st War of Independence

The focus -  the story of India’s first freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947 will be presented simultaneously in the sky through music, laser light, acrobatics through 500 drones

Uttar Pradesh’s Principal Secretary (Tourism and Culture) Mukesh Kumar Meshram said on Saturday that under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the Department of Tourism and Culture, Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the country’s largest drone show is being organised.

The drone show will be organized from 5:30 pm on December 20 at the Residency which witnessed the first revolution of 1857 in Lucknow. Shri Meshram said that more than 500 drones will be taking part in this show. A day before, on the evening of December 19, a trial of the drone show is also being done. Admission to the events on both 19th and 20th December from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm is free for all the people in the Residency.

Secretary - Ministry of Culture, Shri Govind Mohan in a message to PIB said “We have always tried to raise the bar with each event being curated under Amrit Mahotsav. These events not only help us reflect on our glorious legacy but also help reach out to people especially the youth of today in ways that are in sync with their new ways of thinking.” He also mentioned that so far since the start of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in March more than 13,000 programmes have been held making it one of the largest commemoration initiatives anywhere in the world.

 All programs under AKAM are guided by A WHOLE OF GOVERNMENT APPROACH that brings together multiple stakeholders within and outside the Government, working towards a common goal. The initiatives are constantly supported by DIGITAL OUTREACH, and planned with element of JAN BHAGIDARI to make it a ‘people’s initiative’.
