Captain Parmanand Singh was a freedom fighter from Sarwaan, Deoghar, Jharkhand. His father’s name was Ruplal Prasad Singh. Parmanand’s wife's name was Lt. Radha Devi. He was born in September 1909. Parmanand had worked along with Subhas Chandra Bose and had also gone to jail. He was a leader of the extremist party. A prize of 25,000 was announced if someone helps to find him dead or alive. He was involved in the looting of Grain House and the burning of the police officer. He had participated in the 1932 satyagraha and 1942 movements looting the grain storehouse. He stayed in the phulkari hills for years. He also went to Deoghar jail. Britishers had announced shoot and sight order for him. He was a great social worker. He died on 24 July 2008.
