Paying tribute to India’s freedom fighters

M.K.M. Ameer Hamza was born on 22 January 1918 to Moideen Ravuther and Basinsindu, at Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. He was a Freedom fighter and a Soldier of Subhas Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. As a teenager, he traveled to Burma for Trade and there he supported and donated millions of Rupees to INA. Ameer Hamza was arrested and interrogated by the British authorities for aiding and abetting Netaji’s Army. After the war, the family stayed in Burma and returned to India in the 1960s repatriation of Burmese refugees. He was impoverished in his later days and struggled. He passed away on 1 January 2016, at the age of 99.
