Name of Mulki Raj inscribed on the Homfraygunj Martyrs Memorial ‘Balidan Vedi’

Mulki Raj was deported from Haryana on transportation. He was living in Aberdeen of Port Blair. He was an active member of the Indian Independence League (IIL). He was arrested in October 1943 and interned in the Cellular Jail. During his imprisonment, he received inhuman torture. On 30 January 1944, he was shot dead by the Japanese Firing Squad and buried in an ‘L’ shaped mass grave with 43 others at Homfraygunj in South Andaman. A memorial ‘Balidan Vedi’ has been erected in memory of them at the spot where they got martyrdom.
