Unsung Heroes Detail

He was born on 10 November 1900. He was the second Principal of National College, Lahore where he continued till the closure of the college in 1926. He was a teacher as well as a friend of Bhagat Singh. He was active in Naujwan Bharat Sabha. He wrote many small booklets in Urdu and used to lecture in rural areas to spread awareness about freedom struggle and socialism. He wrote books like What is Socialism, Inqlabi Shrare. His wife Sita Devi, a labour leader remained a member of the Punjab legislature and also Member of Parliament. Principal Chhabil Das passed away on 11 December 1988.
