Venku Pandu was a resident of village Boduluru, taluka Rampachodavaram, distt. East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. He took part in the Rampa Rebellion of 1879-80, against the oppressive rule of the Mansabdar and British officials in the Chodavaram Division of the Godavari Agency. Along with his leader, he took an active part in the attacks and burnings of many police stations. He also killed a constable near Chodavaram before he was captured. Sentenced to death, Pandu was hanged by the Government in about November 1880 at Yelleshwaram.
