'Kisan Drone Yatra’ inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the "Kisan Drone Yatra," a project by the start-up Garuda Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. that sent 100 "Kisan Drones" to various cities and villages across the country to apply pesticides on farms in different Indian states. The 100 Kisan Drones have been deployed in 100 places throughout India.
This is a major step by the Government in its efforts to promote the use of technology in agriculture and to increase farm production. The drones will help in streamlining the use of pesticides in the farms, which might help in improving the profitability of our farmers.
PM referred to it as a new chapter of technological development for farmers. He also emphasized the fact that more than 200 drone start-ups is already present in the country and by looking at the pace of transformation, these numbers are expected to increase in the future.
Further, PM emphasized the fact that Garuda Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. has set a target of manufacturing one lakh drones under the ‘Make in India’ campaign in the next two years.
