Prime Minister inaugurated Global Maritime India Summit 2023

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the third edition of the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 in Mumbai via video conferencing on 17 October 2023. The 'Amrit Kaal Vision 2047', a plan for the Indian Ocean blue economy, was also announced by the Prime Minister at the event. He officially laid the cornerstone for projects aligned with the "Amrit Kaal Vision 2047" for the Indian maritime blue economy.
The Prime Minister welcomed everyone to the third Global Maritime India Summit 2023. This summit was one of the biggest Maritime events in the country and witnessed the participation of prominent Ministers from across the globe. Discussion sessions on key issues such as ports of the future, decarbonization, coastal shipping, shipbuilding, etc were also a part of the Summit. The Prime Minister recounted how the uncertainties of the COVID epidemic had plagued the entire world at the time of the Summit in 2021 and stressed that a new world order is emerging.
The Prime Minister also discussed the Government's emphasis on the shipbuilding and repair industry. He claimed that INS Vikrant, an indigenous aircraft carrier, is evidence of India's capability. The Prime Minister said, "In the next ten years, India will rank among the top five countries in the world for shipbuilding and shared the motto of Our motto is 'Make in India - Make for the world.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that the world is looking at India with fresh ambitions related to global order. He claimed that despite the global economic crisis, India's economy is always growing, and the nation will soon join the top three economies in the world. He also highlighted the importance of marine routes in international trade and India’s maritime capabilities.
