Ministry of Culture organized curtain raiser and logo launch event for India Art Architecture Design Biennale (IAADB ‘23) at National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi, India on. A video message by the Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Tourism, and DoNER Shri G. Kishan Reddy highlighted that the Ministry of Culture is set to host the inaugural edition of IAADB in December 2023. The events shall take place in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi addressed the event with a keynote mentioning “The India Art Architecture Biennale promises to stand as a beacon in India’s vibrant festival tapestry aiming to showcase the nation’s architectural and artistic brilliance on the global stage. This Biennale mirrors the grandeur of its international counterparts and promises not just inspiration but also pure enchantment. The Biennale will initiate dialogues, innovation & collaboration by bringing together grassroots artisans and contemporary designers thereby furthering the creative economy.” Smt. Mugdha Sinha, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture revealed that the Biennale shall take place from 9th to 15th December 2023 at the iconic Red Fort, Delhi. Each day will be devoted to a different theme, with exhibitions and panel discussions organized by subject-matter experts. Doors and gateways, fascinating gardens, breathtaking step wells, majestic temple architecture, modern wonders of independent India, the current face of indigenous design, and the importance of women in architecture are just a few of the themes that shall be covered in the event. The IAADB ’23 edition shall act as a precursor to India’s participation in the Venice Biennale 2024.
