On Navy Day, the President of India observes an operational demonstration by the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam

On the occasion of this Navy Day, which is celebrated on 4th December every year, the Hon’ble President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu attended the operational demonstration by the Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam. She virtually inaugurated and laid the cornerstone for several projects of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and the Ministry of Defense.
The President extended her wishes on Navy Day and congratulated all officers and their families for their contributions to the nation. She stated that this day is commemorated to honor the heroic deeds of the Indian Navy during 1971. It is a day to honor and remember our martyrs who made their mark in history and continue to inspire succeeding generations. This day serves as a reminder to renew our commitment to moving India towards Amrit Kaal and into a bright future.
The President said that with the water on three sides and tall mountains on the fourth, India is historically a marine nation. It is natural that the oceans play a vital role in India's development and prosperity. The Indian Navy is responsible for providing a protective shield for India's maritime interests.
The President highlighted that the Indian Navy continues to be steadfast in its tenacity, uncompromising in its commitment, futuristic in its capability development, and action-oriented. This Navy Day's theme - "Combat ready, Credible, Cohesive and Future proof force," s this resolve and dedication.
